The total extent of water-related ecosystems in Brazil is 354,581 square kilometres, representing 4.2 % of its land area. The total extent of water-related ecosystems is made up of 0.74 % permanent lakes and rivers, 0.53% seasonal lakes and rivers, 0.29 % reservoirs, 2.6 % inland vegetated wetlands and 0.14 % mangroves.
